This Sunday is International Women’s Day.
A few days ago I saw a post by a man saying:
"Women, it is time for you to take over."
Although I understand where he is coming from, I disagree.
I believe it is time for men and women to stand next to each other.
"Taking over" is again a quite masculine approach...
For centuries, many positions of power in the world were held by men.
A lot of good came from that.
And at times… we also made quite a mess of things.
Which is exactly why it matters that women are increasingly seen and respected as equals, also in places where decisions and power live.
So not taking over.
But creating balance in more places.
Let's embrace the feminine in life,
not only by women, but by men as well.
As a mother of two sons (16 and 18), I encouraged them to do something simple this Sunday:
send a message to the women who matter in their lives. Or genuinely see the women crossing their path that day.
A sister.
A grandmother.
A friend.
A friend’s mother.
Not gifts. Not something commercial.
Just a moment of sincere attention. That is it for now.
Showing that women are valued, supported, and seen.
And perhaps even more importantly:
it shows that a new generation of men is rising,
one that invites women to rise alongside them.
Not to take over,
but to lead whom ever is the best person for the role.
I feel grateful to walk beside my sons as they grow into the young men they are.
The future will not be shaped by women or men alone.
Nobody should take over...let's rise and evolve together.
